Molly Powers is headed to northern Ohio next fall where she will attend
and play volleyball at Oberlin College. Oberlin’s head coach (Erica Rau) is
very excited to have Molly join her team and expects her to excel at the
libero position. Molly is the second Energy player to join the North Coast
Athletic Conference, she joins Emily Marguerite (Denison University) as
liberos competing in the NCAC, where a rivalry between Denison

Molly is currently in her second year with Energy VBC’s Girls’ Volleyball
Program (Girls’ 17 Rox:
2010–2011, Girls’ 18 Rox: 2011–2012), and expects to finish her senior year strong.

We’re Growing! — Still!!
If you’ve visited our Energy Sports Complex recently, you no doubt
noticed a bit of construction underway. Here’s what we’re adding to the
largest (52,000 sq. ft.) dedicated USAV-sanctioned club volleyball facility
in the Northern Chicago Metropolitan Area:
- Championship Court — This new court (our
7th!) is expressly designed for
championship bracket matches, with 20-foot deep service areas, more
sideline space, and stadium-style bleacher seating. Energy VBC is the
only Chicago-area club to have a court of this caliber.
- College Recruiting Viewing Stand — A raised
viewing stand expressly for use by visiting college coaches and scouts
to give them an excellent vantage point for evaluating players.
- Conditioning & Training Area — A 5,000 sq. ft.
dedicated area for player conditioning and training activities.
- Team Conference/Meeting Room — A separate
conference room for team meetings and use by visiting coaches and scouts
meeting with players.
- Expanded Spike’s Pro Shop — A significantly larger
pro shop stocked with a larger variety of volleyball clothing,
accessories, and equipment.
