Club Volleyball
Energy VBC offers both Boys’ and Girls’ competitive club programs, all operating
under the same expectations of growth, advanced skill, and competitiveness by our
Coaches under the direction
of our Leadership Team.
We strive to help all Energy players grow as student-athletes with the
coaching, skill development, and mentoring prescribed by our
Coaching Philosophy.
Elite Division (Boys’ Teams & Girls’ Rox, Blue, & Lime Teams)
This travel division, open to all athletes ages 12–18 (subject to
placement after tryouts), is designed for the serious athlete ready to commit to the
next step. Our Elite Division teams play a full club season, (Girls: October–June;
Boys: Split Season, September–March 1 & May–July)
with the goal of earning a bid and representing Energy VBC at the USA
Volleyball Junior National Championships, extending the season into July.
Our Elite Division teams travel within and outside USA Volleyball’s
Great Lakes Region to get the most exposure possible to the elite competition that paves the way
to the Nationals.
Our Elite Division teams are coached at the highest level to compete nationally.
We build skills, confidence, and extreme knowledge of the game (“volleyball intelligence”),
so that they are prepared for any situation. This program prepares volleyball athletes for
the highest level of play they desire.
Surge Division (Girls’ Surge Teams)
This non-travel, highly competitve, division, open to all girls ages 12–18, is designed
both for those just starting out in the game (our younger age teams) and for multiple sport
athletes who have conflicts with the longer, full club season. Our Surge Division has a shortened
season of play, October–March, allowing participating athletes to go on to play other sports
in the Spring. Surge Division teams that earn qualification for a free bid to the ASICS®
Nationals get to continue their season into June and play in this national tournament.
Our Surge Division teams are coached at the highest level of play and competitiveness
to represent Energy VBC in USA Volleyball’s Great Lakes Region. At the beginning levels,
our coaches focus on building a sound foundation of basic skills from which our athletes
can build more advanced skills as they gain experience. The older, multiple sport athletes
are coached at a level focussed on building off the skills they have and advancing
them to a higher level of performance.

Energy VBC Program Fees for 2011–2012 Season:
Energy VBC program fees are all-inclusive, with the exception of
transportation and travel expenses for travel teams, as defined in
Energy VBC Team Scope. Fees
vary by team. Additional fees will be required for all travel tournaments —
info will be distributed at the Parent Meeting following team placement. You
will know your total costs (Program Fee) for the club season upfront,
with no additional fees levied as the season progresses, contrary to the
practices of many other clubs. Accordingly, we will provide you with a
specific quote, based on team placement, immediately following Tryouts.
All fees are non-refundable.
Note: All continuing players
receive a $100 discount on the applicable Program Fee as determined after each
player’s placement following Tryouts. (This fee discount is only
offered to players who played for Energy VBC in the previous year. The discount
does not apply to players who played for Energy VBC in the past,
but did not play for Energy VBC in the prevous year.)
Note: All players are
required to attend all qualifiers and Nationals as outlined by
Energy VBC Team Scope above and to
pay their portion of the associated travel expenses. This is a requirement
and is not optional for any players on teams designated or having earned a bid to these tournaments.
