Kristin Byrne
Coach Kristin has over 10 years of competitive and recreational
volleyball experience as well as 3 years of coaching experience, and is
excited to bring her skills and experience to Energy VBC.
As a high school player, she has experience playing every position, and
specialized in outside hitter, setter, and libero. She later dedicated
herself to the libero position as a junior and senior in high school when
the position became a part of the USA Volleyball program. Her high school
and club career is marked with 2 Chicago City Championships (3 appearances),
and state tournament appearances.
Although Kristin had the opportunity to play volleyball competitively at a
Division III college, she chose to recuperate a back injury and attended the
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. There, she continued to play in
co-ed and women’s’ leagues while earning her Bachelor’s Degree in
International Studies and International Healthcare.
