Eli Estrada

Coach, Girls’ 15 Surge Colbalt

Coach Estrada played volleyball at The Latin School of Chicago, a small private school in Chicago, which plays in the Chicago Prep Conference. He was on the varsity for 3 years as a setter/outside hitter, was named MVP his junior year, and was captain for both his junior and senior years. He lead Latin School’s Varsity Boys Volleyball Team to their first conference championship in 2005, his senior year. Coach Estrada attended college at DePaul University, but due to personal reasons and extended absence didn’t play club. He did however, stay active in volleyball playing in many competitive and social leagues throughout the city, in which he still participates at least 3 times a week.

Coach Estrada started coaching in college as the head middle school girls’ coach at Francis Xavier Warde, leading his girls to their first league/conference championship. Later, he coached at Quigley Prep during their last year as a school, helping them finish a respectable third in their conference. Following that season, he moved to The Latin School of Chicago as a middle school girls’ head coach for two seasons. He then restarted the boys’ volleyball program at Gordon Tech High School, which had been absent for 4 years. He coached them for two years, leading them to a respectable 9th and 8th place finish in the very challenging CCL (Chicago Catholic League). Coach Estrada is currently the head girls’ JV coach and assistant boys’ varsity coach for the Latin School of Chicago’s high school volleyball program.  He holds an annual co-ed high school, skills camp in the summer and also helps with the Sacred Heart girls’ summer skills camp.

This season marks Coach Estrada’s 11th season and 6th year coaching volleyball. He is CPR, PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance), and ASEP certified.
