Chris Kimura teaches 5th grade at North
Elementary in Des Plaines. He played 4 years of volleyball at
Niles West High School (as well as football and wrestling) and
played recreation volleyball throughout his 5 years at Western
Illinois University. He continues to play beach and indoor
volleyball whenever he can.
Coach Chris is currently coaching his third year with
Energy VBC after an amazing first year. His
Energy VBC Girls’ 12 Blue team won 7 tournaments for the
year, won the Great Lakes Regional, and earned a bid in the top
division for the Nationals in Miami. His Energy VBC
Girls’ 12 Blue team ended up finishing 47th in the Nation!
Chris has always been known as a work horse in all the sports in
which he has participated in and is committed to instilling his
work ethic in the players he coaches, developing the players’
intensity as well as enhancing their skills.
